I have been here twice now and it is so much fun. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in this area honestly. The caboose we stayed in was clean, cozy, well thought out for the layout. There were 4 bunk beds, a double bed and a washroom. The sink was outside the washroom which was good when you are staying with other people. The decor added to the train theme, there was art of a steam engine train above the bed, and each window had train themed curtains. We went in December and there were decorations outside the main building. which were fun to see. The front desk conductors were so helpful and kind and always eager to greet you when you walk in. The first day we got there, the front desk conductor called us a few hours after checking in, just to make sure we had everything we needed, and we appreciated that so much! Casey Jones restaurant is a must go! To really get into the spirit of trains, you have to eat in one! Food and service were awesome. The location of Red Caboose Motel is perfect because you are next to train tracks, and the Railroad Museum and Choo Choo Barn are just down the road. And Lancaster is just 5 minutes away for other places to go. I cannot say enough good things about the Red Caboose Motel, I was sad to leave. But hope to be back soon!

Such a fun and cozy stay for our family of 6! We had the best time staying in a real caboose! Great use of the space. We had a bit of a mix-up on check in and they quickly fixed the issue and made sure to check in with us. The petting zoo was super for our kids(and my husband lol). Super close proximity to Sight and Sound and the main shopping areas as well. Very encouraging to us as well that the Bible was open to the Proverb of the day. Cannot say enough good things about this motel.

A motel with 1811 reviews? That doesn't make any sense , I thought, but believe me, it's a gem and shouldn't be missed . Red Caboose is located in the heart of Ronks, PA, minutes from the Strasburg train station and all the activities you can do in Amish Country (lots of beautiful farms!). You can stay in the train cars, which is what we did; everything was beautiful, spotless, and very well presented. The motel has a mini-zoo , buggy rentals, a fabulous restaurant, souvenir shops, a bar , and above all, breathtaking scenery. It deserves 6 stars if possible . A true bargain! By the way, and very important!, the restaurant has an access ramp, and the parking lot is very spacious. (loved accessible spots!).

This was a last minute trip for an overnight during the winter and our stay was wonderful! The rooms are so comfy and welcoming, the staff is so friendly and there are so many things to do close by! The restaurant had great food and the gift-shop was adorable. The toy train museum was within walking distance and they have buggy rides that go out from the parking lot. Truly a great experience, we can’t wait to come back when the weather breaks! Highly recommended!

We stayed recently for a small family get away. It was the most fun. I really loved the caboose! They are small but bigger than I thought! The staff is so friendly and accommodating! We loved the animals! We just had the best time! And the Casey Jones breakfast was good! We waited a while for food but it was worth it!

The location of The Red Caboose was absolutely perfect for me as I was working the next day at the Strasburg Railroad as Santa. I walked into my room and was absolutely amazed at just how "cool" the room was. It was amazing!! Went back out to the front desk and commented exactly that. Went into the restaurant and was quickly seated and had a very good dinner at a very fair price. I left early in the AM so didn't get a chance for breakfast. I would stay here again without any issue and would look forward to the visit!! THANK YOU to the staff and management of the "The Red Caboose"

Extremely Unique and Excellent Staff, the folks working here went above and beyond. They came and shoveled the snow in the morning around the car for us. Check in was friendly and they made you feel welcome and glad that you were visiting. They had the best attitude and were super kind. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant there, the food was good and the wait staff was busy and provided exceptional service as well. Prices were average and I would recommend eating there. Thank you all for a great experience.

Our most recent stay at Red Caboose was 12/27 - 12/29/25. We have stayed twice previously with kids. This time was just adults. It's a fun and cozy place to stay. It's clean and well kept. The train cars are small inside of course, but comfortable. The floors are quite cold in the winter, so bring your slippers and definitely put towels down outside the bath or shower for when you step out. Water pressure in the shower and sink was very good. The kids loved the bunks! The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant was great too. Good service and good food! We've come to think of it as "our place" now whenever we stay over in Lancaster.
